- Saboten-tō (サボテン島) = literal Japanese 'Cactus Island.' *Saboten* is the standard Japanese word for cactus (loaned from Portuguese *sabão* + 体 *tei* — 'soap-body,' from missionary-era usage of the plant's sap as soap). The island is literally an archipelago of giant cactus-shaped rocks that double as tombstones (canonized in 0107) — the cactus-as-tombstone visual register pre-loads the Whisky Peak bounty-hunter-trap-graveyard reveal.

Strawhat departure (Ch. 114)
- The decoy-boat explosion site is on the Cactus Island shore (p. 5). The island’s river-mouth catches the current that propels the Going Merry toward the next island.

- Mr. 5 + Miss Valentine’s pursuit from Cactus Island to Little Garden is confirmed by the Ch. 119 / Ch. 118 retrospective — the ale-bomb on Dorry was planted by the same agents who tracked the Strawhats from Whisky Peak (Cactus Island). The Cactus-Island-to-Little-Garden Officer-Agent pursuit chain is now fully canonized: Mr. 5 + Valentine (Whisky Peak failure, Ch. 0112) → Cactus Island shore (decoy-boat tracked, implicit) → Little Garden (Ch. 0117 ale-sabotage; Ch. 0118 wax-house rendezvous with Mr. 3 + Goldenweek; Ch. 0119 Nami abduction via wax-strike). The island’s role as the Baroque-Works home-base for the eastern-Grand-Line frontier-cell is operationally vindicated by the pursuit-chain stretching one island past it.
