Summary
A “22 years ago” montage shows the World Government’s propaganda machine turning the eight-year-old Nico Robin into a monster in the world’s mouth — civilians everywhere repeating that she is “a demon in the body of an eight-year-old,” that she travels town to town killing and robbing, that she lowers people’s defenses with childish looks then slits their throats — interlaced with Saul’s parting words (“someday, without a doubt, you will meet friends”) and child Robin practicing his “Dereshishishi” laugh through her tears in a hostile Ohara. Cut to the present day: the Straw Hats and their giant escorts dock at Elbaf’s Western Village, a port built atop a great tree that floats on Sea Clouds, marvelling at the island’s clouds, bubbles, rainbows, hovering mist-ships (a “Svarr”) and perfect climate. Hajrudin’s crew — named on-page as the New Giant Pirates — and the captains Brogy and Dorry welcome the crew, hail Luffy as an Emperor of the Sea, and lay on a feast; an old giant who “was friends with Linlin long ago” notes she “did something unforgivable to Elbaph.” Robin breaks off to be guided by the giant Gerd to the school below the Owl Library, southwest of the village, where Dr. Saul teaches history and books. After a fake-out (Saul has “collapsed”), Robin goes to him alone for a reunion 22 years in the making: Saul does his old laugh, says she has Olvia’s gentle eyes, talks through Vegapunk’s broadcast (“we cannot give up… on the future of the world”), explains how the burning island melted his ice and dropped him into the sea, and asks only to hear “nice things.” Robin weeps, “I missed you so much, Saul!!!” — and the whole village cries with them.
New reveals
- Present-day Elbaf, fully arrived. The crew docks at the Western Village, a tree-top port that floats on Sea Clouds; Elbaf’s climate is described as “simply perfect” — island clouds, sea clouds, bubbles, rainbows, hovering. (pp. 5–6)
- Hajrudin’s crew named: the New Giant Pirates. A member announces “…the four of us are the New Giant Pirates, at your service!!” — corrected by another to “Five…”; banner “NEW GIANT PIRATES.” They are reunited with the Straw Hat Grand Fleet and already know Robin. (p. 7)
- How Saul survived Ohara. “I guess the flames of the island melted the ice and dropped me in… the next thing I knew, I was drownin’ in the sea!!” He survived Kuzan’s “Ice Time” freezing, nearly drowned, and “didn’t find out you were still alive until a bit later.” (pp. 15–17)
- Saul = Elbaf’s teacher of history & books. He runs the school below the Owl Library (beside the Warrior’s Spring, southwest of the Western Village) and “mostly teaches classes on history and various books.” Caption: “SAUL (FORMER NAVY HQ V. ADMIRAL — SAVED ROBIN’S LIFE).” (pp. 9–10, 14)
- Big Mom’s unforgivable act against Elbaf, restated. An old giant: “I was friends with Linlin, long ago… but she did something unforgivable to Elbaph.” (pp. 8–9)
- The WG’s 22-year smear of Robin. A montage of worldwide rumor-mongering: “She’s a demon in the body of an eight-year-old girl,” “she lowers their defenses with her childish looks… then slits their throats in the night,” “the government won’t go into detail about the story.” (pp. 2–4)
Foreshadowing seeds planted
Payoffs (seeds from earlier chapters that resolve here)
Mentions / appearances
- Straw Hats (present, Elbaf): Nico Robin, Luffy, Usopp (the giants call him “Uso-Land”), Tony Tony Chopper, Nami, Brook

- World-building (first-named here): Svarr — an Elbaf “mist-ship” class that sails on island-cloud buoyancy, first named-and-shown this chapter (p. 6: “It’s a Svarr!! …A mist-ship that uses the buoyancy of island clouds to sail.”)
- Threads: True History Ohara Was Killed For, Vegapunk Final Message and Sinking World, Mother Carmel Mystery, What is the One Piece
Notable panels
- Cover (p. 1): Cover-story serial — “Ogre Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage, Vol. 20: HOLDEN ATTACKS! DROP YOUR VALUABLES!!” A horned ogre-bandit (Holden) and his beast accost the travelers; Momonosuke(?) raises his hands.
- pp. 2–4: The 22-years-ago Ohara propaganda montage — the evacuation ship’s explosion (“the scene in Ohara?!”); civilians worldwide repeating WG lies about child Robin; Saul’s “you will meet friends” voice-over; child Robin laughing through tears.
- pp. 5–6: “Present Day, Elbaf, New World” — docking at the Western Village, a tree-top port that floats on Sea Clouds; the “Svarr” mist-ship that sails on island-cloud buoyancy.
- p. 7: Hajrudin’s crew named — the New Giant Pirates (“the four of us…” / “Five…”); reunion banter (“I knew you changed your hair, Robin!”).
- pp. 8–9: Feast; “I was friends with Linlin long ago… but she did something unforgivable to Elbaph.”
- p. 10: The Warrior’s Spring (“an ocean!!” — a fossil-eroded sandy beach fed by waterfalls) and the Owl Library beside it.
- pp. 11–14: Saul’s collapse fake-out → Robin walks the Warrior’s-Spring shore alone toward the giant Saul; Saul’s “Dereshishishi”; caption “SAUL (FORMER NAVY HQ V. ADMIRAL — SAVED ROBIN’S LIFE).”
- Visual mirror (pp. 12, 14, 16): the reunion restages Saul’s Ohara introduction (Ch. 392 pp. 12–13) — the giant’s enormous open “Dereshishi” laughing mouth filling the frame while a speck-sized Robin stands dwarfed beneath it (p.16: Robin arms-spread on Saul’s palm below his open mouth). A deliberate scale-contrast composition echo — see Saul Giant Dereshishi Mouth Looms Over Tiny Robin Composition.
- pp. 15–17: Saul explains the ice-melted-into-the-sea survival; “I want to hear NICE things about how I survived!”; “Bless you for being alive, Robin!!! 22 whole years!!”; Robin: “I missed you so much, Saul!!!” — the village weeps. To be continued.
Open questions raised
- What exactly did Big Mom do to Elbaf that was “unforgivable” — and is it the House-of-Lambs vanishing, or a distinct act? (See Mother Carmel Mystery.)
- Does the Owl Library hold the rescued Ohara archive — and a Road Poneglyph or fragment of the True History? Why was Robin specifically brought here?
- “You will understand someday” — what does Saul know about Vegapunk’s message that he isn’t yet saying?
- Who are the other (unnamed) members of the New Giant Pirates, and how many are there really (the “four”/“five” gag)?
