Profile

A large inland body of water on Elbaf, SW of the Western Village and beside the Owl Library. A fossil-eroded sandy “ocean” — “a sandy beach caused by part of the tree becoming fossilized and eroded”; it has no tides, but waterfalls from the spring make waves lap the shore (“It’s an ocean!!” / “Spring?! It looks like a beach!!”). The shore where Robin walks alone to reunite with Saul.

Etymology

戦士の泉 (Senshi no Izumi, “Warriors’ Spring/Fountain”) — 戦士 (senshi, “warrior”) + 泉 (izumi, “spring/fountain”). Named in parallel with the adjacent Western Village, whose canonical alias is the Village of Warriors (戦士の村, Senshi no Mura) — Elbaf’s warrior settlement that Dorry & Brogy hailed from. The spring is a waterfall-fed, sand-ringed “ocean” at the lower canopy / roots of the Yggdrasil-coded Treasure Tree Adam, right beside the Owl Library. (Speculative layer: a sacred spring at the base of the world-tree, next to a hall of knowledge, mirrors the wells at Yggdrasil’s roots in Norse myth — Urðarbrunnr, the Norns’ Well of Fate, and Mímisbrunnr, Mímir’s Well of Wisdom — though no source confirms a specific referent.)
