- SALT is the Thriller Bark zombies' weakness: Brook reveals that salt 'embodies the power of the ocean,' so a mouthful of it severs the bond between a corpse and its implanted 'fake soul' (the stolen shadow that animates it via Devil-Fruit power), killing the zombie. He hands Robin and Franky a stash of salt as the simple method to defeat them (pp. 2-5).
- BROOK'S BACKSTORY deepens: his shadow was taken five years ago; he is the LAST SURVIVOR of his ship/crew; he fled the island to save his life but has returned to reclaim his shadow and 'fulfill the pact I made with a friend' — declaring he will not run away this time (pp. 4, 6).
- GECKO MORIA's grand ambition: to build a world/nation populated entirely by obedient zombies and become 'the cemetery king of the entire world' — boasting every person's shadow is obedient to him (pp. 9-10).
- KAIDO is named for the first time: Moria says that with enough zombie underlings he 'wouldn't have lost to that idiot Kaido in the New World the way I did last time,' establishing Kaido as a powerful New World figure who previously defeated Moria (p. 10).
- ZOMBIE NUMBER 900 is revealed to be OARS — a giant demon corpse from 500 years ago, the legendary 'Continent Puller' and berserker warrior 'they call The Beast,' who pulled whole nations under and 'created a nation of villains.' Moria found his corpse 'in the land of ice'; Hogback has spent ten years (since he and Moria met) building the zombie around it (pp. 9-11, 17-19).
- Brook confronts the zombie general RYUMA, who claims Brook 'are my shadow' and names himself 'the swordmaster Ryuma' — confirming on-page that Brook's stolen shadow is what animates the Ryuma zombie; the captain 'Spider Monkey' TARALAN was already defeated (shadow removed) by Brook, the 'humming swordsman' (pp. 11-12, 14, 16).
- FRANKY is moved to tears by Brook after asking him 'one more question' before they part; Brook declines to stay and heads off alone, and Franky admits 'I really love that skeleton now!' (pp. 7, 15).

Summary
Brook finishes briefing Robin and Franky on Thriller Bark’s zombies: each is animated by a stolen shadow (a “fake soul”) via Devil-Fruit power, and their weakness is salt — a mouthful severs the body–soul bond and kills them; he hands them a stash. He recounts that his own shadow was taken five years ago, that he is the last survivor of his ship, and that he has come back to reclaim it and keep a pact made with a friend. As he hurries off, Franky stops him with “one more question,” then weeps over the parting. Inside Mast Mansion, Gecko Moria gloats over Luffy’s freshly stolen shadow — destined for his masterwork Zombie Number 900 — and lays out his dream of a world of obedient zombies that would let him conquer where he once “lost to that idiot Kaido in the New World.” Moria orders Luffy’s body returned to the Sunny, brushes off reports that the “humming swordsman” has been removing his zombies’ shadows (Taralan defeated), and Absalom refuses to deal with it. The chapter closes in the special freezer as Moria and Hogback unveil Number 900: the colossal corpse of Oars, the 500-year-old “Continent Puller” demon found in the land of ice.
New reveals
- Salt = zombie weakness. Salt “embodies the power of the ocean”; placed in a zombie’s mouth it breaks the bond between the corpse and its implanted fake soul, ending it (pp. 2-5).
- Zombies are animated by an implanted shadow. What the spider-monkey zombie “spat out” was the shadow inside it; the corpses move “due to the powers of the Devil Fruit” (pp. 3-5).
- Brook is the last survivor of his ship, shadow taken five years ago; he returned to reclaim it and “fulfill the pact I made with a friend” (pp. 4, 6).
- Moria’s ambition: a world of obedient zombies, making him “the cemetery king of the entire world” (pp. 9-10).
- Kaido — first mention. Moria lost to “that idiot Kaido in the New World” “last time” (p. 10).
- Oars revealed. Zombie Number 900 / “S-900” is the corpse of Oars, the 500-year-old “Continent Puller” / “the Beast,” who “created a nation of villains”; found “in the land of ice” (pp. 9-11, 17-19).
- Hogback built Number 900 over ten years, since he met Moria (p. 9).
- Ryuma carries Brook’s shadow — confirmed on-page as Brook confronts him to reclaim it (pp. 14, 16).
- Taralan (“Spider Monkey”) was defeated, his shadow removed, by the humming swordsman (Brook) (pp. 11-12).

Open questions raised
- Who is the “friend” Brook made a pact with? (Laboon implied, unnamed here.)
- Whose shadow will be implanted in Oars / Number 900?
- Who is Kaido, and what happened “last time” when Moria lost to him in the New World?
- Will the salt weakness let the Straw Hats reclaim their stolen shadows?
- How powerful is the revived Oars, the Continent Puller?
