Summary

Atop the ruins of Upper Yard, Enel holds court over the survival-game survivors and reveals his grand design. He scorns both the Shandian “warriors searching blindly for their homeland” and the “Blue Sea pirates hunting for gold,” declaring that “the foundation of this country in the sky is unnatural” and that he will “drag all humans down from the sky” — letting Skypiea fall into the Blue Sea. He names his true destination: a boundless land beyond the clouds called Endless Varse (“a land that is worthy of me… the paradise I seek”). When the deposed Sky Knight Gan Fall denounces him, Enel reveals Gan Fall is the former Kami of Skypiea, whose army of 650 he crushed six years ago — and that Enel himself is no god (“There is no such thing as ‘Kami’!! This is a world of humans!”). Gan Fall charges; Enel blasts him with a lightning strike (“Twenty million volt… Varie!!”), and Nico Robin and Conis recognize the Rumble-Rumble Fruit — the power of lightning. Enel announces “the time is up for my prophecy… and now we are five,” intending to take five “chosen few” with him to found a new Godland. He plans to seize the island’s gold — the Golden Bell — first. Robin tries to outwit him about the bell’s location; Enel sees through her (“I despise conniving women”) and strikes her and Nami down.
