Summary
At the Eastern Inlet of Whole Cake Island, Jinbe gathers Capone Bege’s Firetank crew and the Sun Pirates and lays out his decision: now that he knows Big Mom plots to assassinate the Vinsmoke (Germa) family, he cannot stand by — he will betray Big Mom, foment rebellion, and help the Straw Hats and Bege’s coup. He orders the Sun Pirates to flee for Fish-Man Island during the tea party when security turns inward, and shares an emotional farewell with his old comrade Aladine, who takes the ship and the captive Pekoms home while Jinbe stays behind. At Whole Cake Chateau the Vinsmoke siblings ready themselves and a worried Reiju wonders what Sanji is thinking. The 10
tea party begins: candy-crafting Perospero escorts the final guests — six “tyrants of the underworld” (Du Feld, Drug Peclo, Stussy, Morgans, Umit, Giberson) — up a candy escalator, while at the gate the organ dealer Jigra, enraged that Big Mom mailed him his hospitalized father’s head, opens fire and is instantly killed by Katakuri, whose future-seeing Observation Haki lets him quote Bege’s response before it is spoken. Big Mom welcomes her guests to a feast where everything is edible.New reveals
- Jinbe officially renounces Big Mom and commits to rebellion: “I will be fomenting rebellion and betraying Big Mom!!” (p. 3) — and pledges he would one day join the Straw Hats and die for Luffy (p. 4). See Straw Hat Recruitment Pattern.
- Big Mom’s “leaving fee” mechanic (pp. 3–4): when Jinbe asked to leave face-to-face, she produced a roulette wheel; the number it lands on is the number of crewmates/lives that must be sacrificed for him to go free.
- The Sun Pirates depart Totto Land for Fish-Man Island under Aladine; Jinbe stays behind to act during the party (pp. 4–5).
- Six titled underworld guests arrive (pp. 8–9): Du Feld (Loan Shark King, “God of Fortune”), Drug Peclo (Major Undertaker), Stussy (Queen of the Pleasure District), Morgans (President of the World Economic Journal “Big News”), Umit (Shipping King, “Deep-Sea Currents”), Giberson (Warehouse Kingpin, “The Hider”).
- Morgans states his paper “has deep ties to Germa” (p. 9).
- Katakuri’s future-sight (p. 14): his Observation Haki is “so refined, he can actually see the near future” — he kills Jigra with a thrown jelly bean before Jigra can fire again, and recites Bege’s reply (“All right… will do.”) an instant before Bege says it. Reiterated: Sweet 3 General, 2nd son of Charlotte, bounty over a billion, “biggest source of trouble at the party.”
- Jigra (Organ Dealer) attacked the gate for revenge after Big Mom sent him his father’s head; Katakuri executes him (pp. 12–14).

Open questions raised
- Will the Sun Pirates make it home, and what becomes of the captive Pekoms?
- What exactly does Big Mom’s wedding “show” entail, and how do the gathered underworld powers factor in?
- Can anyone overcome Katakuri’s future-sight Observation Haki?
- Why does Morgans’ paper have “deep ties to Germa,” and what role will the press play in the wedding’s outcome?
