Summary

At the third step of the new royal plateau the combat toys suddenly clunk apart and revert to their proper human bodies — Sugar has been knocked out “again,” undoing the Hobi Hobi power; onlookers realize the Donquixote Family had fused their own rank-and-file soldiers “eight people in one” into oversized toys, and the freed men quietly fear they’d be toys for the rest of their lives. On the palace’s fourth step, Luffy and Law confront Doflamingo, who holds a beaten, weeping Bellamy. Doflamingo recounts that Bellamy worshipped him on his own, declares “there’s no escaping the nature you’re born with — you’ll never be anything more than a thug,” and kicks his dying follower in the face as Trebol howls with laughter. Luffy — who insists “Bellamy did change!” and “we’re friends!!” — refuses to be baited, restrained by Law’s warning that provocation is exactly Doflamingo’s weapon. Doflamingo turns on Law: itemizing Law’s crimes (destroying the S.A.D., attacking Vergo and Monet, abducting Caesar, freeing all the toys), he confesses he is “so furious all I can do is laugh,” and that it all feels like “thirteen years ago flooding back.” He tells Law that but for “that incident,” Law would be standing here today “as the third Corazon” — to which Law answers that but for that incident he “would never have come back for revenge.” Doflamingo proves to be a body double; Law slashes through it (Black Knight) and vows to “take the real one.” Doflamingo then puppeteers the controlled Bellamy to attack Luffy, daring Luffy to beat his friend unconscious. The chapter’s true secret plan triggers: Luffy winds up as if to strike, Doflamingo reads it as Luffy about to knock out Law, Law uses Room/Chambres to swap, and Luffy’s Red Hawk slams into Doflamingo (BOOM) followed by Law’s Radio Knife. The volume’s SBS confirms giants live to ~300 and the little Tontatta people to ~150.

• “The third Corazon” — Doflamingo to Law (p. 10): “If it wasn’t for that incident… you’d be right here, as the THIRD Corazon!!!” This names a recurring “Corazon” seat within the Donquixote organization that had at least two prior holders, and that Law was on track to inherit before the rupture.
