Mid-fight in the Luffy-vs-Krieg duel: Luffy has already knocked Don Krieg down once (the chapter opens with Krieg face-down, KA-THUD!!; cook/Krieg-pirate chorus registers the impossibility — ‘How could this shrimp beat him?!?’ / ‘His reputation is shattered…’). Krieg rises (KA-CHANG!!), produces a new weapon — the Mighty Battle Spear (KROOSH!!! / SHING…!, page 5) — and articulates its operating principle: the harder the thrust, the bigger the explosion.
