• Luffy destroys/breaks the spear by counter-strike (the spear’s bomb-charge becomes the detonation that ends the duel — hoist-by-his-own-weapon finisher).
• The spear’s full-power swing (which Krieg refuses to use because it damages the deck, page 8) is forced by Luffy — the deck-damaging swing is the trigger for both fighters being put in open water.

The Ch. 60 Krieg Bomb-Type Cannonball Arsenal grammar is now confirmed as arsenal-wide, not cannonball-specific. The Mighty Battle Spear is the melee-tier instance of the same modular-payload doctrine.
