Two cooks (Patty among them) gossip about Sanji while Luffy washes dishes: “Ever wonder why Sanji stays, even though he don’t get on with Chef? He wants to be head chef someday.” The surface-explanation Patty offers is framed as insufficient — the chapter explicitly signals this is not the full story .
