Luffy holds the broken-off spear-head: “With its point broken off, your spear… is just a bomb on a stick!!” Krieg’s crew: “the mighty Battle Spear, broken!” / “Don Krieg’s deadliest weapon…” The Ch. 60 silhouette → Ch. 64 swing (off-page-to-Ch. 65) → Ch. 65 broken-aftermath payoff. The spear’s deadliest-weapon ranking is on-page-canonized. Status flips to confirmed: the silhouette teased a weapon, the weapon swung, the weapon broke — three-stage payoff complete.

Ch. 61 page 1 — opening-swing of the spiked-mace
The Ch. 60 page-16 silhouette resolves into an active swing on Luffy: “I’LL SMASH YOU TO A PULP!!!” / WHRRRRR . Note: the chapter pivots to the shield-platform for the rest of the Luffy-Krieg combat — the full mace-cycle is pending Ch. 62-66. Partial-payoff (opening-swing only).

The Ch. 60 silhouetted-hand-weapon is paid off as a hand-held active melee weapon — the Mighty Battle Spear (disc-spear with internal bomb-charge). The specific weapon differs from the Ch. 60 silhouette (which read as a spiked-mace); this may be (a) a separate weapon Krieg deploys later, (b) Oda’s design evolution mid-arc, or (c) the spiked-mace was the silhouette of the spear’s disc-head. Treat as arsenal-grammar payoff — the active melee weapon tier of the Krieg-arsenal is operational — not a weapon-specific payoff.

structurally re-deployed as the
Giant Gavel body-flail attack, with Krieg’s leg as the swing-arm and the netted Luffy as the gavel-head. The literal hand-weapon spiked-mace itself
remains undeployed — that payoff is pending in subsequent chapter(s).
The payoff — Ch. 63 reinterpretation
Ch. 63 pages 11-13 — Ch. 60 silhouette reinterpreted as
spiked porcupine-cape , not a hand-weapon
The Ch. 60 page-16 spiked-mace silhouette is not an overhead war-club : it is the spike-spread of Krieg’s back-mounted porcupine-cape during posturing. Krieg himself names it (page 11): “Then try punching my porcupine cape, boy!!!” Cook chorus diagnoses: “His cape’s covered with spikes!!?” / “Don’t touch it!! His bare fist…” The Ch. 60 prediction-grade: partial-payoff with form-correction — the new spiked weapon-tier element of the prediction holds, but the hand-held melee weapon element is inverted (back-mounted defensive armor, not active melee).
The cape is bypassed in the same chapter — Luffy’s Gum-Gum Bullet (page 12) punches through the cape with DF-velocity advantage. Krieg is knocked down for the first time on-page (page 13-14).
