Summary
As the giant Baroque-Works cannonball ticks down over Alubarna’s central plaza — set to wipe out both armies and the watching civilians — Vivi screams up at the silhouetted Crocodile (“Is there no limit to your evil?!”) while the Straw Hats, having stopped the bomber, despair that all their effort was “for nothing.” Intercut with this is the underground Luffy-vs-Crocodile finale: a battered Luffy refuses to fall (“I… will defeat you!!”) against Crocodile’s “men with a deep knowledge of the sea don’t make such claims easily” sneer. Pell — the Royal Guard’s falcon-Zoan, last seen comatose — drags himself upright in the munitions storehouse, triggering a childhood flashback to him secretly flying a young Vivi against the King’s command and confessing that “serving the Nefertari family has been the greatest honor of my life.” In falcon form he launches, snatches the falling cannonball from the sky over the city, declares himself “the Guardian Spirit of Alabasta — the Falcon,” and carries it skyward. The chapter ends on a full-page BOOM as the bomb detonates while Pell still holds it aloft, the blast lighting the sky above Alubarna — his fate left unresolved.
