Cover (p. 1) — HACHI’S WALK ON THE SEAFLOOR, VOL. 10: “HACHI SAVES THE SEA BOAR” — undersea splash of Hatchan (giant open-mouthed octopus) saving a pig-snouted sea boar amid collapsing rocks. Tenth installment of the ongoing Hatchan cover-serial.
In-story the chapter braids two tracks at the besieged capital Alubarna.
Track A — Sanji, Usopp & Chopper at the Southeast Gate; rebel reinforcements arrive (pp. 2-4). At the Alubarna Southeast Gate, Sanji returns Eyelashes’ goggles (‘You got my goggles back! Sanji, you’re the best!!’ — then promptly broken, ‘Agh!! They’re broken! Why you—!!’). They spot a fresh wave of rebel reinforcements (‘These are the latest goggles from North Blue!!’ / ‘Those are probably rebel reinforcements’) and head for the palace to help Vivi. The rebel mob outside the palace gate roars ‘OPEN THE GATES!! Princess Vivi is in danger!!’ / ‘If Sir Crocodile is here in Alubarna… then the rumors about him trying to take over Alabasta must be true!’ — but mysterious hands appear from the gate (‘Hands?! …Hands from the gate!!’, Dieciséis Fleurs / WHOOM!!) — Robin’s Hana Hana power off-page holds the gate. Track A continued — Crocodile at the palace lawn; Cobra defeated; the Pluton interrogation (pp. 5-8). Track B — Nami vs. Ms. Doublefinger (the chapter’s main combat-track) (pp. 8-19). Ms. Doublefinger (afro, sun-pendant, smoking) presses Nami, who brandishes the Climate Baton. Doublefinger derides the weapon: ‘That’s an interesting weapon you have… but unless it helps you when you’re fighting… anything that can be used to kill people, whatever its original purpose… is a weapon!! …It’s no better than a toy, is it.’ — then extends blade-spikes from her body (CHUNK!!): ‘…is a weapon!! Even a face.’ Nami (panicked): ‘If I don’t do something quick, I’m dead!!’
Nami starts experimenting with the baton’s three air-bubble types. ‘Rain Tempo!!’ produces a sprinkler-mist (‘A water show?’ / ‘You really are desperate.’ / ‘Sprinkler!!’). Doublefinger attacks with Sea Urchin… Stinger!! (p. 12, ‘I’ll poke enough holes in you to become a beehive!!’); Nami counters with a Cool Ball!! The fight escalates: Nami builds Cool Ball / Heat Ball / Cloud payloads while dodging Doublefinger’s Stinger Rampage!! (pp. 14-17, RIP RIP RIP / PU… WUP). Doublefinger (impressed): ‘I must say… your dodging ability is truly exceptional.’ — but a spike catches Nami’s leg (‘My leg!! It’s hurt bad!!’).
