- Coordinated set-up for Arlong’s reef-move maelstrom (page 15): the rudder-sabotage disables the Marine ship’s steering immediately before Arlong’s reef-move creates the maelstrom. Choo + Arlong combine on a single combat-feat in coordinated officer-deployment.
Name etymology
Chuu (チュウ) = the Japanese onomatopoeia for a kiss-sound (cf. chuu-chuu) — name-as-species-tell for a kisser-fish. The pursed-lips face register is the kisser species-design. The MARINE-cap parody is a visual joke — Choo dresses as a Marine while fighting Marines, an Arlong-Pirates costume-mock register.
Forward-context (Ch. 75 install — for tracking)
Forward-payoff (not Ch. 75 — context only): Choo is the canonical antagonist of Usopp’s Arlong-arc combat-fight (Ch. 84-85). His water-cannon recurs as the fight’s main combat-feat. The Ch. 75 install demonstrates the combat-feat at naval-engagement scale; the Park-fight register downscales it to single-character scale.
