Firsts
  • Oars revives after his collapse and shrugs off the prior battle ('That didn't hurt a bit!!') — confirming the zombies' core weakness: they feel no pain, so brute force can't kill them; the Straw Hats must engineer a single decisive blow instead (pp. 4-5, 17).
  • The whole crew — Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Robin, Franky, Brook, Chopper — pretends to be unconscious, then springs a pre-planned coordinated combination attack to put Oars down before sunrise (pp. 6-9).
  • The combo: Nami's 'Rain Tempo'/'Cool Ball' rains on Oars; Franky/Chopper crank the giant freezer to max so the cold air freezes the rain to ice and immobilizes him; the rudder-control chain is hooked around him to pull his spine STRAIGHT (pp. 10-16).
  • Reveal of the kill-mechanic: a spine is normally S-shaped to soften impacts; with Oars frozen and his spine pulled straight, an impact 'won't have any place to go, and it'll take the full damage' (p. 16).
  • Robin's new named technique 'Pierna Fleurs' sprouts a staircase of legs to launch Luffy upward; Zoro's 'Three Thousand Worlds' and Sanji assist the spine-straightening setup (pp. 10, 15-16).
  • Robin tells Luffy to land the finishing blow himself — 'It's your own shadow' — and Luffy ends it with a Gear Third 'Bone Balloon' → 'Gum-Gum Giant Bazooka' to Oars's stomach, dropping him to a chorus of 'He did it!!' (pp. 14, 17-19).

Summary

Oars has been knocked flat (“DOOOM!!”) and the shadow-victims cheer Luffy’s victory — but the relief is brief: the colossal zombie hauls himself back up, untouched, because the undead feel no pain and can’t be killed by force. With dawn breaking in the east and the Straw Hats apparently unconscious, the victims despair and prepare to flee into the lightless forest. Then Zoro and Brook stand, the “two uninjured ones” vanish, and Luffy staggers up declaring he only needs one more blow. It was all staged: the crew was already getting into position for a pre-planned combination attack. Nami rains on Oars and Franky’s giant freezer turns the rain to ice, locking him in place; the rudder-control chain is hooked to pull his spine straight (so its impact-absorbing S-curve can’t soften a hit); Robin’s Pierna Fleurs builds a stairway of legs to launch Luffy, who — told by Robin to finish his own shadow himself — fires a Gear Third Gum-Gum Giant Bazooka into Oars’s straightened gut. Oars goes down to cheers of “He did it!!”
