Chapter 335: Warning

Summary

A storm front is closing on Water Seven. The chapter opens on the Franky Family’s wrecked headquarters: Franky fumes that the Straw Hats “trashed the place” — “this is how he gets back at me… darn that Straw Hat Luffy” — and resolves to make them pay, tracking the crew from the inn they stayed at toward the shipbuilding island (pp. 2–3). Out at the Northern Outpost Shift Station, Chimney, her cat-rabbit Gonbe, and their grandmother (Kokoro) watch a howling southern wind churn the sea and prepare to return to the island; the Sea Train “won’t be running tonight, not in this weather” (pp. 4–6). The Water Seven Weather Bureau broadcasts a city-wide Aqua Laguna advisory — an annual high tide that will submerge the entire town under seawater at “about half past midnight” (pp. 6–9). Sanji, Zoro and Chopper, mistaken for tourists, are warned to evacuate to high ground and decide to “hurry and find Robin” (pp. 7–8). Outside the Galley-La Company head office, a crowd of reporters and worried townsfolk press for news on the comatose Mayor Iceberg, herded by the foreman Tilestone (pp. 9–11). Luffy and Nami arrive, unable to get into Dock 1 (authorized personnel only), still set on reaching “Ice Guy” — when a “BOMP SHAKALAKA” beat erupts and Franky literally dances into the scene (pp. 10–13). He calls Luffy out by name, accuses “the Straw Hat gang” of attacking Mr. Iceberg, and is revealed in full: “FRANKY — DISMANTLER AND BOUNTY HUNTER, ‘FRANKY FAMILY’ BOSS,” flanked by the Square Sisters Kiwi & Mozu (pp. 13–15). Luffy faces him down — “I’m Luffy” (pp. 16). Inside, the chapter cuts to the climax: Iceberg regains consciousness (pp. 17–18). Asked who entered his room the night before, he answers: “There were two of them” — “a large guy with a mask on” and “a tall black-haired woman” with “those sharp eyes.” Over Robin’s wanted poster, he names her: ”…Nico Robin. It had to be…” (pp. 18–19) — framing the Straw Hats’ archaeologist for the assassination attempt.

• Aqua Laguna is named and explained (pp. 5–9): an annual high tide / “high water” event that submerges the entire city of Water Seven in seawater. The whole island goes on “Aqua Laguna alert”; the Weather Bureau forecasts it hitting “about half past midnight” (≈12
  ) this night, ordering all work stopped and every household notified to evacuate to high ground. (“This town will be submerged in seawater.” / “Take care. …It’s an annual thing.”) Cross-link Aqua Laguna, Water Seven.
• Iceberg’s condition & the investigation (pp. 9–11): the comatose Mayor Iceberg is under guard at the Galley-La head office while reporters mob the gates demanding to know if his condition is “life threatening” and what “the progress of the investigation” is. Galley-La staff stonewall (“We said we’d tell you if there was any change!”).
• Iceberg wakes and IDs his attackers (pp. 17–19): he comes out of his coma and recalls “the one who entered my room… last night” — “There were two of them”: “a large guy with a mask on” and “a tall black-haired woman” with “those sharp eyes.” Shown against her wanted poster, he names her: ”…Nico Robin. • Franky introduced (pp. 13–15): caption box — “FRANKY: DISMANTLER AND BOUNTY HUNTER, ‘FRANKY FAMILY’ BOSS.” A muscular, blue-haired man in swim-briefs and an open shirt with star tattoos, who dances in to a self-announced beat (“BOMP♪ SHAKALAKA♪”), proclaiming himself “the number one hero on this island… THE HIDDEN FACE OF WATER SEVEN.” (The “Cutty Flam” alias and his cyborg nature are NOT named/shown on-page this chapter.)
• The Franky Family vendetta (pp. 2–3, 13–16): Franky blames “that Straw Hat gang” both for attacking Mayor Iceberg (“You must be the one who attacked Mr. Iceberg!”) and for trashing his place (“How dare he mess with my darling lackeys!”).
