Iceberg Names Nico Robin As His Masked Attacker
Status: pending · Technique: authoritative-accusation + wanted-poster prop-tell + arc-structure misdirection
The seed
Iceberg wakes from his coma and names his attackers: “There were two of them” — “a large guy with a mask on” and “a tall black-haired woman” with “those sharp eyes.” Over her ¥79,000,000 wanted poster he concludes: ”…Nico Robin. It had to be…” A masked-pair description + a poster-prompted ID is laid down as the engine of the arc’s frame-up. (Nico Robin is not shown this chapter — she is named/accused only.)
Ch. 337 — p. 15 (the second-intruder negative-space tell)
The morning after, Galley-La Company relays the report to the crew: Iceberg said “there were two assassins ” — but the World Government supplies only one name, “a bounty named Nico Robin” (pp. 14–15). The deliberately unfilled second-assassin slot (negative space) is the tell that the night attack was a disguised, staged operation — later disclosed as CP9 impersonators framing the Straw Hats, not a real Robin crime. (This consolidates the per-chapter 0337 “Two Assassins / Second-Intruder Tell” reader proposal — merged into this canonical masked-attacker seed, not forked.) Cross-link CP9 , Nico Robin .
The payoff
(What it turned out to mean — forward of 0335.)
The forward Robin-truth reveal: Robin is acting under
CP9 coercion, ordered against the Straw Hats (her coercion begins to surface @0343, defection on-page @0347). The “two masked figures” are a CP9 operation, not Robin acting freely. Payoff lands across the later Water Seven / Enies Lobby chapters.

Why this matters
An authoritative victim’s on-page accusation, anchored to a recognizable wanted-poster prop, is used to redirect an entire city’s (and the reader’s) suspicion onto a Straw Hat — the classic Oda mid-arc misdirection that conceals the true antagonist (CP9 ) and Robin’s coerced position. Pre-keys the Straw-Hats-as-fugitives turn of the Water Seven arc. Cross-link Iceberg , Nico Robin , CP9 , Robin Vanishes The Night Iceberg Is Shot Apparent-Betrayal Seed .
