Demonstrated mechanics

  • Stiletto-finger spikes — index-fingers extend into long thin spikes; primary attack-mode (Ch. 0190 pp. 14-15).
  • Architectural-tier piercing — spikes pierce stone walls like cardboard (Ch. 0190 p. 16 interior-thought).
  • Any-body-part spike-generation — Doublefinger’s self-articulation: spikes from any part of my body (Ch. 0190 p. 16).
  • Named Stinger attack-family (Ch. 0191) — Double Stinger (twin body-spikes), Finger Stinger (index-finger thrust), Hedgehog Stinger (full-body radial spike-burst), Stinger Stomp (downward spike-strike). • Named techniques (Ch. 0192)Sea Urchin Stinger (body-spike barrage, Ch. 192 p. 12) and Stinger Rampage (full-body multi-spike assault, Ch. 192 pp. 14, 17). First named Toge Toge no Mi attacks of the climactic Nami fight.
  • Sea Urchin Stinger draws blood (Ch. 0193) — a spread of spikes pierces Nami’s left foot (Ch. 193 pp. 3-4); the Sea Urchin / Stinger attack (first named Ch. 0192) lands a wound here. Doublefinger is nonetheless defeated by Nami’s Tornado Tempo (Ch. 0193 p. 9, WINNER: NAMI).

Ch. 0191 — Stinger attack-family + countered by Nami’s Climate Baton

Etymology

Codename pre-tell: Doublefinger = New Year’s Day (1/1) = two pointer-fingers (SBS Vol. 18, Ch. 161 p. 20). The codename is a literal-pun on her body-mechanic — the two-pointer-finger gesture is her spike-grammar. The codename-as-fruit-mechanism foreshadowing is a structural Oda-naming-as-foreshadowing technique.
