- Vander Decken IX will weaponize the colossal ancient ark Noah by applying his Mato Mato (Mark-Mark) homing curse to it, sending the entire vessel crashing down on Princess Shirahoshi — and therefore on Fish-Man Island, since she cannot leave it — as the Fish-Man Island arc's climactic physical threat. The mechanism is the union of three explicitly-installed Chekhov elements: (a) Decken's curse makes any object he has touched and thrown home in on its marked target forever (his love-letters reach the six-year-old princess wherever she hides, @0627; his thrown weapons always find Shirahoshi, @0613-0618); (b) Noah, the colossal ark, is parked in the Fish-Man District directly on the route (@0608-0613); (c) the Tamatebox/aging-wedding sub-plot ties Decken's obsession to a fairy-tale doom (@0626). Forward, expect: Decken to touch and hurl Noah at Shirahoshi (~628-648); the falling ark to become the island-scale crisis that fulfils Madam Sharley's 'straw-hatted man destroys Fish-Man Island' prophecy in form; and the only force able to stop it to be Shirahoshi commanding the Sea Kings (Neptunians) — i.e. her latent Poseidon/Ancient-Weapon power — welding the arc-villain mechanism onto the deeper Noah ↔ Joy-Boy-promise lore (Noah was the ship the Mermaid Princess was meant to move).

By 0627 Oda has installed all the moving parts in plain sight; the only thing withheld is the firing of the gun:
- chekhov-explicit + prop-tell — Decken’s homing curse is demonstrated, not merely described: his love-letters keep finding the six-year-old princess wherever she hides (Ch. 627 — “the fifth letter finds her wherever she goes… now marry me”; he is “the latest in a long line of pirates by that name”), and his thrown weapons always home in on Shirahoshi (Ch. 613, Ch. 618). - name-etymology / prop-tell — Noah (the ark) is introduced as a colossal ancient ship parked in the Fish-Man District directly on the descent route (Ch. 608, Ch. 613). - fairy-tale-overlay — Decken’s obsession runs on an Urashima-Tarō / Tamatebox wedding-doom register (Ch. 626): a cursed marriage the princess must refuse. - prophecy convergence — Madam Sharley foresees a straw-hatted man destroys Fish-Man Island (Ch. 610–Ch. 613). A falling Noah is the most-loaded candidate for the destruction the prophecy names — fulfilled in form, inverted in agent (Luffy as the averter, not the destroyer). The cluster is the evidentiary spine of, and complementary to, the partially-confirmed The God-Triad Names Encode Each Ancient Weapons Deployment Domain (the Poseidon = Sea-King-commander leg this prediction relies on for the “how the ark is stopped” clause) and the long-horizon Luffy Will Re-Complete Joy Boys Fishman Island Promise (Noah’s deeper role as the promise-vessel). This prediction is the near-term arc-climax mechanism; those two are the long-term identity/promise payoffs.
Resolution
What happened: Every clause landed on-page. Vander Decken IX marked and hurled the ark Noah at Shirahoshi with the Mato Mato curse (Ch. 637– Ch. 645); the falling ark became the island-scale catastrophe; and at Ch. 647 (“Stop, Noah”) the Sea Kings catch Noah’s chains and halt it intact — they came because Shirahoshi called them, guided by Luffy’s desire, i.e. her latent Poseidon command. Ch. 648–Ch. 649 weld the mechanism to the deep lore: Noah “was built to be pulled by the Sea Kings, for the mermaid sovereign to be born” / “meant to be used by Joy Boy and moved by the Neptunians,” and Shirahoshi’s “other name… is, in fact… Poseidon, the Ancient Weapon” (Ch. 649 p. 19; the three weapons named together Ch. 650).
What we got right / wrong: The two clauses the calibration note flagged as inference-not-yet-on-page — the specific object-of-the-throw being Noah, and the stopped-by-Shirahoshi’s-Sea-King-command resolution — both confirmed exactly as reasoned. The refuter “the Sea Kings act independently of Shirahoshi” did not fire: the text is explicit that they descended because she called them. Luffy’s Elephant Gatling cracking Noah (Ch. 645) was a contributory beat, not the halt — so the “answered by her Poseidon power” clause survives cleanly. The one soft leg left untested is the Madam-Sharley “straw-hat destroys FMI” prophecy convergence (deferred, not refuted).
Confidence calibration check: We filed at 0.7; in retrospect this was well-calibrated, mildly under-confident — all four converging Chekhov elements paid off and the resolution clause landed without dilution, which would have justified the 0.8 chekhov-stack band. The 0.7 hold was a reasonable discount for the forward-of-frontier (627→647) risk on the specific resolution mechanism, which is exactly what resolved in our favor.
What would refute this
- Decken is neutralized before he can mark Noah. If Decken is defeated / the curse is broken before he applies it to the ark (e.g. the Mato Mato mark is shown to require a fresh touch he never lands on Noah), the ark-as-weapon clause fails — even if Noah still falls by another mechanism.
- Noah is moved/stopped by something other than Shirahoshi’s Sea-King command. If the ark is halted by Luffy’s raw force, by Jinbei, or by the Sea Kings acting independently of Shirahoshi (not summoned by her), the “answered by her Poseidon power” clause is diluted.
- Noah’s role is benign / the promise-vessel only. If Noah is never weaponized and appears solely as the Joy-Boy-promise ship (a vessel the Sea Kings carry, never a projectile), the prediction’s central thrown-weapon claim is wrong (the long-horizon promise prediction would still stand, but this one would not).
- Sharley’s prophecy pays off via an unrelated event. If the prophesied “destruction” is realized through the Hody coup or an Energy-Steroid rampage rather than the falling ark, the prophecy-convergence leg is reframed.
Calibration note
Filed at 0.7 — four converging techniques on a dense, explicitly-shown Chekhov stack (homing curse demonstrated, ark planted, fairy-tale doom-frame, prophecy convergence), but held below the 0.8 chekhov-stack band because the specific object-of-the-throw (Noah, vs. some smaller weapon) and the stopped-by-Shirahoshi clause are strong inferences rather than on-page-stated at 627.
