Kuma’s power is introduced entirely through effect and dread, never named: Perona’s zombies report comrades “erased without a trace” (p. 12); Kuma makes Perona vanish with a touch and a “POOF” (p. 16); and he re-appears beside Nami in an instant (“Did he warp?! He came here in an instant!”, p. 18). A textbook named-power-before-mechanism setup — the fruit’s identity and the fate of those he “erases” are held back, planting the gun for a much larger payoff later in the Thriller Bark / Sabaody storyline.

Classic Oda named-power-before-mechanism: a Warlord’s ability shown by effect (vanish + warp) chapters before it is named — and the displacement-not-death twist is the load-bearing held-back reveal.
The 0483 “touch-to-vanish / body-teleport seeds his Devil Fruit” beat folds onto this note (one canonical seed). The repulsion half pays off @0484; the people-launch half pays off Ch. 513 (the Straw-Hat scatter).
