Summary
At Orochi’s drunken banquet in the Flower Capital, the Shogun — transformed by the Mythical Zoan Snake-Snake Fruit, Model: Yamata-no-Orochi into an eight-headed serpent — threatens to devour the oiran Komurasaki for defying him, but she refuses to beg. While the little girl Toko pleads, Nico Robin (Orobi) and Brook (Bonekichi) stage a yokai haunting to cover an escape, and Nami (Onami) links up with the kunoichi Shinobu the Man-Killer, whose Ninpo collapses the banquet roof. The yakuza boss Kyoshiro then cuts Komurasaki down in one stroke — calling it “a warrior’s mercy” — to spare her from Orochi’s wrath, leaving bystanders to question whether his lethal loyalty went too far. Robin shields Toko as Orochi rages to devour the child, and Nami summons Zeus to blast the group free of the castle. The next morning in Okobore Town, O-Tsuru feeds the amnesiac, washed-ashore Big Mom (“Olin”) her last bowl of oshiruko; her companions decide to lure the memory-wiped Emperor toward Udon with promises of more sweets — “if her memory comes back, it’s all over.” A caption counts down: nine days remain until the fateful battle.
New reveals
- Orochi’s serpent form + Devil Fruit: the Shogun — previously shown in human form (Ch. 929) — here transforms into the giant eight-headed serpent for the first time — VIZ caption: “Zoan Type (Mythical) Snake-Snake Fruit (Model: Yamata-no-Orochi)” (p. 2).
- Komurasaki is cut down by Kyoshiro in a single blow at the banquet — “a warrior’s mercy” to keep Orochi from devouring her (pp. 11–13).
- Shinobu the Man-Killer debuts (first named p. 7, full reveal p. 8): a kunoichi (“bombshell beauty”), recognized by the ninja Hanzo, wielding “Ninpo: Ball-Crusher,” “Ninpo: Paralysis Jutsu,” and a rotting “Rot Garden” power (pp. 7–10).
- Big Mom = “Olin”: washed ashore with amnesia, renamed Olin, fed oshiruko by O-Tsuru in Okobore Town; her group plans to lure her toward Udon (p. 17).
- Countdown: “Nine days remaining… until the fateful battle” (p. 17).

Open questions raised
- Is Komurasaki truly dead, or was Kyoshiro’s “warrior’s mercy” a staged kill? (Bystanders openly doubt it.)
- Why does Toko’s laughter so enrage Orochi, and what is her relationship to Komurasaki?
- Will the amnesiac Big Mom (“Olin”) regain her memory — and what happens when a confused Emperor is delivered to the Udon prison-mines where Luffy is held?
- What “fateful battle” is nine days away?
