Summary

Luffy and Enel’s duel begins in earnest atop Upper Yard. Luffy declares himself “a rubber man” and a pirate; Enel scoffs that rubber doesn’t exist in the White-White Sea — then learns its meaning the hard way when his lightning attacks fail to electrocute Luffy (p. 4, 7). Reading Luffy’s moves with Mantra, Enel adapts: he uses “Luminous Forge” to shape his lightning into a blade (“think of it as lightning in a form,” p. 8-9), exploiting rubber’s weakness to sharp objects, and discovers that while electrocution does nothing, the electrical heat stored in his spear can still burn (“That’s hot!!”, p. 11-12). Luffy answers with Gum-Gum Whip, Spear, Battle-Axe and Gatling, but Mantra lets Enel read every blow. Declaring himself the Kami whose will the world obeys, Enel charges his “Maximum 200 Million Volt Varie” and activates Maxim — a colossal ark, its hull branded 神 (“Kami/God”), that lifts off Upper Yard (p. 16-18). Despite Nami begging him to flee, Luffy refuses, insisting he’s the crewman of the future King of the Pirates, and Enel resolves to “finish our business here… in the sky.” Page 20 is an SBS Question Corner where Oda charts the Paramecia / Zoan / Logia Devil-Fruit type system.

• Rubber is immune to electrocution. Enel’s lightning “won’t work” on Luffy; “attacks won’t work either” (p. 4, 7). The “strongest Logia” billing is subverted by a rubber-bodied Paramecia.
• Enel’s classification of the Gum-Gum Fruit (via Robin’s narration): “he’s merely a Paramythia. He basically retains his original shape” — distinguishing it from Logia intangibility (p. 8).

• Can Mantra be jammed/overwhelmed at this tier of speed? (Enel reads every Luffy blow here; the “composure-dependence” loophole is forward.)

• Cover serial: Ace’s Great Search for Blackbeard, Vol. 8 — “The Dairy Lass Moda’s Dilemma” (p. 1).
