Summary
In the aftermath of the colossal ship that fell from the sky (and the giant turtle/sea-beast they barely avoided), the Straw Hats take stock of the salvaged wreckage — armor, a rusty sword, dishes — none of which explains how to reach the sky. Robin reveals she stole an Eternal Pose from “the ape’s ship” that points to an island named Jaya, presumed the wreck-crew’s home base (p. 5). The crew argues over navigation: sailing to Jaya now would mean leaving before the Log Pose can lock the next magnetic field, so they elect to go to Jaya, ask the locals how to reach a Sky Island, and depart again before the Log Pose resets (pp. 6-8). Approaching Jaya’s coast, an unseen sniper shoots distant seagulls out of the sky over open water (pp. 8-9), unnerving Chopper and Usopp; on Jaya’s western coast a tall-hatted, goggled gunman with an ornate musket is shown to be the shooter (p. 10). The Going Merry reaches a port town the crew first mistakes for a resort but which is full of pirate ships — Mock Town, a lawless “town of derision” on Jaya’s western shore (pp. 11-13). In a bar, the brutish Roshio the Executioner (42M) wins at cards by force; Bellamy the Hyena (55M) accuses Roshio of cheating, impales him, and laughingly trashes the bar (pp. 13-19). Luffy and Zoro arrive at the town’s edge, unfazed, remarking that it looks like a fun place full of all sorts of characters (p. 20).
New reveals
- Jaya is named (p. 5) as the home base of the lawless ship that fell from the sky; Robin’s stolen Eternal Pose points to it.
- Mock Town introduced (pp. 12-13): a lawless port on Jaya’s western shore, “a place beyond the reach of government, where lawless ruffians gather… to fight and carouse”; captioned “the town of derision.”
- Bellamy the Hyena introduced (pp. 16, 19): captain of the Bellamy Pirates, bounty 55,000,000 berries; sword-wielding, scar over one eye.
- Roshio the Executioner introduced (p. 14): captain of the Roshio Pirates, bounty 42,000,000 berries; a hulking grappler defeated by Bellamy.
- Sarquiss named (p. 17) as one of Bellamy’s crew, present in the bar.
- An unnamed goggled sniper on Jaya’s western coast shoots seagulls out of the sky from extreme range (pp. 9-10) — a marksman feat the crew can’t explain.
- Navigation mechanic restated (pp. 6-8): the Log Pose only resets/locks onto the next field after a delay, so a short stop at Jaya is viable if the crew leaves before it resets.

Open questions raised
- Who is the goggled sniper on Jaya’s western coast, and how does he hit targets at impossible range? (Unnamed this chapter.)
- How does one actually reach a Sky Island from Jaya — what will the Mock Town locals tell the crew?
- What is the relationship between Bellamy’s crew and Mock Town / Jaya’s larger order?
