At Marineford, with Luffy dying, Trafalgar Law surfaces his submarine and chooses to save a stranger. The line is unusually explicit narration-via-character — Oda flags, in the moment, that this encounter is not incidental. Why would a Supernova rival rescue a competitor in the Pirate-King race, and what “fate” binds them? A planted, on-page promise that Luffy and Law’s paths are deliberately entangled going forward.
