Why this matters
A dying character naming his own possession — “my very thoughts are being influenced by someone else” — is Oda’s dialogue-from-dead-character device for authenticating a reveal the audience has just seen from the outside (@1168–1169). It converts the Aurust massacre from a whodunit into a how-far-does-it-go: the same Covenant machinery that puppeted a giant king is held by the WG’s apex.
