Through the early Water Seven brawl, Franky shrugs off attacks, breathes fire, and displays inhuman strength — feats the panicking crowd reads as Devil-Fruit power (“If he’s eaten a Devil Fruit he’s gonna drown” when he leaps into the harbor). The misdirection is the tell: a Devil-Fruit user would sink and drown.

Why this matters
