Summary

In Enies Lobby, the Chopper-vs-Kumadori fight reaches its breaking point. Having already burned one Rumble Ball, Tony Tony Chopper eats a second (“the second Rumble Ball is a real gamble”) to force “Arm Point” and land his strongest technique — but his body transforms erratically and randomly between forms; he can’t reach the point he wants, his body is “at its limit.” Kumadori counters with “Solid Iron Body!” and his Life-Return-powered “Rose Blizzard!!” and “Song of the Willow!!”, driving Chopper down. Cornered and bleeding, Chopper gambles everything on one attack and downs a third Rumble Ball — triggering a flashback to Drum Kingdom: as a boy, Chopper used the Rumble Ball three times, lost consciousness, and nearly destroyed an entire village. Dr. Kureha warns him “Don’t ever do it again… There’s no other word for it… but a MONSTER!” — telling him to think of it as “the Devil Fruit going wild,” uncontrollable power that destroys friend and foe and his own body. Back in the present, with “ROBIN…” on his mind, the third overdose detonates: Chopper breaks free of the Hair Bind and rises as a towering monster silhouette, overwhelming Kumadori and winning the fight. The defeated Chopper-monster nets Key Number Four off Kumadori (the swordsman had Number Two, the nose had… wait — Chopper notes the swordsman [Zoro] and the nose [Usopp/Sogeking] wanted Number Two, that Kumadori had Number Three [taken by Sanji’s group] and this one is Number Four; one key remains, likely on “that secretary woman” [Kalifa]). The chapter then cuts to the Nami vs. Kalifa fight: Kalifa, lounging in soap-bubbles, mocks Nami; Nami declares she’ll show “the power of the perfect climate baton” and opens with lightning — “Thunder Charge!”, “Swing Arm!”, “Thunder Ball!!” — escalating to “Thunderbolt Tempo!!!” (KABLAM!) as Kalifa’s stripped strength only “slowly returns.”
