Summary
The Franky House raid plays out and pivots into the chapter’s gut-punch. In the cold open the Franky Family carouse drunkenly inside their whale-shaped HQ (“FRANKY HOUSE”), having blown the 200 million berries they stole from the Straw Hats — “Go buy all the food in the store! We can afford it!! / Go buy more supplies!” — until a thunderous “THROW / WOOOO” announces intruders. Four Straw Hats — Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Chopper — have come “to confront the Franky Family all alone.” The Family’s boss-figure in giant iron armor mocks them (“The four of you are nothing against us!”; “You’re the captain of the crew that weak, long-nosed guy belonged to… So you can’t be worth much! …Shrimp!”), boasting his armor can’t be dented by battleships. Luffy answers with “Gum-Gum… Cannon!!” — a fist that punches through the iron armor (“It went through the iron armor!!”). The Family begs to talk; they reveal the crushing truth: “Sorry, but the money’s not here anymore! / The boss, Franky, went shopping with it!! / He’s probably on the Sea Train by now!” — Franky bought “stuff on the black market,” is off-island, and won’t be back for a while; “no matter how much you rough us up, you won’t get the 200 million berries back.” Luffy: “It’s not about the money anymore. / Don’t talk.” The four — Luffy, Zoro (Santoryu “Raven Hunt”), Sanji (“Party Table Kick Course”), and Chopper — promise “Get ready to have… every bone in your bodies broken,” and the Franky Family counter-charge (“We’re the Franky Family, dismantlers and bounty hunters!! / Everything Cannon!! / Show them the Franky House specialty!”). The Straw Hats raze the building. Afterward, sitting in the wreckage, the crew debate whether to chase Franky (pointless — “if he’s already spent it all… they really don’t know where the money is”). Sanji notes the looming problems: “Nami’s waiting for us. And then there’s Robin too… and then there’s the problem with the ship.” Luffy goes quiet, then declares: “I’ve decided… The ship… We’ll say farewell… to the Merry Go.” The crew’s stunned ”?!!!” closes the chapter.
New reveals
- The four raiders are Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Chopper — they hit the Franky House “all alone” to take back the stolen money (pp. 5–6; “…and went to confront the Franky Family all alone!”, p. 6; “There’re only four of them!!!”, p. 17). Usopp is NOT among them — he is referenced in absentia as “that weak, long-nosed guy” the captain’s crew “belonged to” (p. 7). (Inference flag: Usopp’s separation from this group pre-loads the Luffy–Usopp rift; the chapter does not yet stage the rift itself.)
- The 200 million berries are already spent. The Franky Family confess the stolen money “is not here anymore” — “The boss, Franky, went shopping with it!! / He’s probably on the Sea Train by now!” — bought black-market goods off-island and “won’t be back for a while” (pp. 14, 18). The crew cannot recover the money.
- Franky is named on-page for the first time — “the boss, Franky” / “that Franky guy” (pp. 14, 18). He is the leader of the Franky Family. (He is referenced/named only this chapter — not shown on-page.)
- The Franky Family self-describe as “dismantlers and bounty hunters” and announce a “Franky House specialty” (“Everything Cannon!!”, pp. 16). Their HQ is the Franky House, a large whale/fish-shaped scale-shingled building (pp. 2, 17).
- The Family boss-figure fights in giant iron armor that “even battleships can’t dent” — Luffy’s “Gum-Gum… Cannon!!” punches straight through it (pp. 7–9; “It went through the iron armor!!”, p. 9). Their cannonballs and even the cannon itself are “made of iron” (p. 11).
- Combat-tells: Zoro uses Santoryu (three-sword style) “Raven… Hunt!!” (pp. 10–11); Sanji uses “Party Table… Kick Course!!” (p. 12); a Family member uses “Horn Boost… Rumble…! Colonnade Rose!!” (p. 13).
- Luffy decides to abandon the Going Merry — “I’ve decided… The ship… We’ll say farewell… to the Merry Go.” (p. 19). The first explicit, on-page statement that the Merry will be left behind; the crew reacts with shock (”?!!!”, p. 19).

Open questions raised
- Who is Franky (the named-but-unseen boss who rode off with the 200M)? (pp. 14, 18.)
- How will the crew replace the Going Merry, and where will the new ship come from now that the money is gone and Galley-La is in play? (p. 19.)
- How will the crew — especially Usopp — react to Luffy’s decision to abandon the Merry? (p. 19; Usopp’s absence + the “long-nosed guy” framing on p. 7.)
- Can the stolen money be recovered at all, or is it truly a dead end? (“you won’t get the 200 million berries back”, p. 14.)
