Summary
On Upper Yard, Enel descends on the captive Sanji/Usopp/Nami/Conis group. Usopp wails that Enel “killed Sanji,” but Sanji’s heart is still beating (pp. 3-4). Enel, deaf to their fear, lays out his endgame: the warriors he conscripted six years ago are strong and capable, but his “labor” on this island is nearly finished and he will soon “have no more use for this island” (p. 5). He reveals why this island matters to everyone — the Shandians who want their homeland back, the “vermin from the Blue Sea,” and Enel himself are all searching for the ruins of Shandora (pp. 6-7), traced back to “the legend of ‘El Dorado,’ the City of Gold that thrived long ago in the Blue Sea.” The value of that gold, Enel sneers, “is only for the kami to know.” He bids the group adieu — explosions ring out across the island as his “Survival Game” celebration — and vanishes in a lightning FLASH (pp. 7-8). Meanwhile, deeper in the forest, Luffy finally engages Wyper (pp. 9-17): Wyper fires his Wind-Dial-powered Burn Bazooka (a blue-white flame cannon), Luffy retaliates with Gum-Gum Pistol/Bazooka, and the two trade reckless, escalating blows ending on a mutual point-blank clash. Chapter 18 is an SBS column (no cover-comic installment this chapter; the title page is a stylized jazz-band/gangster title splash of the crew).

- Enel’s endgame is Shandora’s gold. He explicitly names “the ruins of Shandora” (p. 6) and “the legend of ‘El Dorado,’ the City of Gold that thrived long ago in the Blue Sea” (p. 7) as the single thing everyone on the island seeks — Shandians, Blue-Sea explorers, and himself (pp. 5-7).
