Reasoning

This prediction routes the non-adjudicable SC5 of the “Tashigi Is Kuina” gauntlet verdict (refuted, 0.258) — the “Chekhov’s gun Oda will eventually pay off” claim. The identity forms are already dead on-page: Punk Hazard shows a living Tashigi co-existing with a memory-only Kuina (Ch. 687), Wano canonized Kuina’s distinct Shimotsuki lineage (Ch. 1033) and pointedly omitted Tashigi, and through her latest appearance Tashigi remains a separate Marine (Ch. 1117). The one natural payoff slot — the Wano Shimotsuki-lineage reveal — came and went without linking Tashigi. A forward payoff that skipped its most obvious landing spot across 1000+ chapters is far more likely never to arrive than to be held for a still-unrevealed Zoro backstory beat.

No refuter fired: Tashigi is not placed in the Shimotsuki tree, Kuina is not shown alive, no Zoro backstory beat merges them, and no SBS statement of a planned payoff exists.

One correction to the 2026-07-25 entry above. It described Zoro at 1189 as “handed one of the 19 World Weapons.” That was a fan-scanlation misread. The official VIZ pages show the founders’ weapons driven into the ground around Zoro (“CLUNK…”, “KSHUNK…”, p.15) while a Holy Knight lectures him — “You see, Roronoa Zolo…?!” / “This is the power… …that conquered the world!!” — a deliberate mirror of the Empty-Throne panel in the same page’s right column. Nothing is handed to him.

The correction does not weaken the entry’s point; it sharpens it. The scene is now an even better “passed slot” for this prediction: Zoro stands at the centre of an explicitly ancestral, lineage-of-arms lecture — 800-year-old founder weapons, named families, inherited legends (“There are no lies among the legends each family passed down!!”) — and the chapter attaches no lineage content to Zoro at all. An obvious landing spot for a Shimotsuki/Kuina bloodline beat came and went untouched, which is mildly consistent with the “never paid off” thesis.

Still far too weak to move the number, for the same reason as July: absence of a payoff in one chapter is the expected observation under both hypotheses, and this note’s thesis is a negative claim that can only be settled by the series ending or by a refuter firing. Held at 0.74.
