Status: pending · Technique: chekhov-explicit, prop-tell, negative-space
The seed
Ch. 1065 pp. 18–19 — a buried colossal iron giant
On Egghead , Shaka reveals the island’s “super-future” tech is in fact the past — a kingdom “just as highly advanced… existed 900 years ago” — and a colossal iron giant is unearthed in Vegapunk ’s scrap heap. The robot is named only as “the legendary iron giant.” See Iron Giant Emet .
Ch. 1067 pp. 9–11 — its history and its irreproducible power
Vegapunk reveals the buried robot climbed the Red Line and attacked Sacred Mariejois ~200 years ago , though it was built 900 years ago . It did no damage only because it ran out of energy ; its goal and origin were never understood; the WG ordered it destroyed but scientists’ curiosity kept it. He modeled the Vegaforce-1 on it , but its “dynamic power source ” is the single thing his science cannot re-create — a past power “strong enough to rewrite everything we know about the world today .” Robin ties the attack-year to the rise of fish-man discrimination (p.10).
Ch. 1117 pp. 14–15 — the Mariejois-assault fact re-asserted by the Gorosei in the present
The monster-form Five Elders identify the reawakened machine as “the iron giant that attacked Mariejois 200 years ago,” now active and battling them on Egghead — moving the prop from past-exposition (Ch. 1067 ) to present-day live threat. (Power-source / Joy-Boy payoff remains forward; status pending.)
