The seed
A clone army stamped from a living Warlord’s exact flesh is a loaded chekhov-explicit seed: it implies the original Kuma is a willing (or coerced) donor and foreshadows his own eventual conversion into a Pacifista. Robin separately confirms (p. 5) that the real Kuma is still distinct from the copies — the genuine Warlord warps, uses paws, and fires no lasers, so “there are two of them.” The genuine article is therefore alive and elsewhere even as his body is being mass-produced.

Why this matters
A chekhov-explicit construction reveal: Oda names the weapon’s literal source material — a named, living character’s body — many arcs before the conversion is dramatized. The “built from Kuma’s body” line is also negative-space foreshadowing: it raises an unanswered why (why would a Warlord consent to being cloned into a weapon?) whose answer reframes everything about Kuma’s arc.
