Short-Run Concentrated Comic Serial. A Mr.-3-and-Goldenweek post-Little-Garden B-plot cover-arc, framed as Miss Goldenweek’s operation to “meet Baroque Works.” Karoo gets unwittingly enrolled as a travel-companion / mascot, a running gag across the serial. The cover-arc runs in parallel with the Drum Island and Alabasta main-plot and pre-loads forward Mr. 3 + Goldenweek material.

Per-chapter log
- Ch. 121 — Vol. 1 (vault-first-visible): Mr. 3 in his personal hammock-camp doing a handstand — top hat on tree, glass of liquor on stand, sword propped against palm tree, banana plant + tropical foliage. First Mr. 3 cover-splash in the series — power-as-domesticity register extended to personal-leisure-camp.
- Ch. 124 — Vol. 3: Mr. 3 (tall blazer, dark glasses, candle-3 topknot, smoking) at a transit-stop sign labeled TSURU TRANSPORTATION (stork/crane mascot atop sign); holds black-and-white suitcase labeled “THE SECRET / 18 / 2-1 CAR” with skull-and-crossbones jolly-roger. Karoo (in Marine-style triangular hat) sits in a luggage-carrier rickshaw beside an unnamed stork/crane mascot — first installment of the Karoo-as-cover-mascot running visual gag.
- Ch. 126 — Concentrated Comic Serial #3 “He Awakes”: Mr. 3 seated in a forest clearing in his striped-jacket attire, chapter-opening art doubling as cover-installment.
Notes
- Successor serial (Water Seven / Enies Lobby era): Miss-Goldenweeks-A-Baroque-Reunion — a distinct, later Goldenweek cover serial (“Ms. Golden Week’s Big Plan, A Baroque Reunion,” ≈0360–0388) in which Goldenweek rounds up the surviving Baroque Works officers (Mr. 3, Mr. 5, Miss Valentine, Mr. 1/Daz Bones, Bon Clay, Ms. Doublefinger) after the org’s collapse, pursued by Hina. Do not merge the two: this note is the pre-collapse “meet Baroque Works” gag; that one is the post-collapse “reunion.” They share Goldenweek + Mr. 3 only.
- Cover-arc still ongoing at the Ch. 190 cutoff. Per Ch. 124’s note, the cover-arc is expected to run through Alabasta + Drum Island into the Skypiea pre-arc (~30 chapters).
- The Karoo-as-cover-mascot register is a running visual gag — Karoo appears in Mr. 3’s cover-arc despite being on the Going Merry in main canon. Cover-canon vs main-canon Karoo-bilocation tell worth flagging
- Cover-arc may overlap with Igaram-and-Co-Survive-Whisky-Peak — both arcs feature Karoo as travel companion. Likely the same Karoo in two cover-arc threads.
- Resolved: the Skypiea-era Spiders-Café cover beats (Ch. 271 Robin reading at the café terrace with a camel + a penguin/Unluckies-style ball-creature, continuing Ch. 272 “Catch the Thief That Didn’t Pay the Tab” at Pasta Lake) are NOT a continuation of this Mr.-3+Goldenweek serial. Image verification shows they are a separate Robin-at-Spiders-Café vignette inside Oda’s umbrella Chapter Title Page Series (0272 is labeled #6). They now live in their own note: Robin-at-Spiders-Cafe-Baroque-Works-After-Tale. (The prior Wapol serial, Wapols Omnivorous Rampage, ran its FINAL CHAPTER @0262.)
