Summary
The intertwined duels of Thriller Bark reach their “conclusion.” Perona reveals the full shape of her Horo-Horo no Mi: she has been fighting Usopp as a soul-projected ghost duplicate — able to resize, pass through walls and people, and fly — while her real body hid elsewhere. She brings out supersized “Special Hollow” bombs and the finger-snap “Kamikaze Rap,” but Usopp counters with a Skypiea Impact Dial to swallow an explosion, immobilizes her with a “Sticky Star” disguised as a dud “Big Bang Star,” and finally breaks her with a swarm of cockroach balloons (“Roach Star”) that triggers her phobia — winning, as he frames it, a “duel of negativity and lying.” When the giant zombie general Lieutenant Hippo Gallant crashes in, Usopp flattens him too with the “Golden Pound,” declaring himself “the strongest man in the East Blue.” The chapter then cuts to the smoking aftermath of a far larger battle: Zoro versus the legendary zombie samurai Ryuma. Brook and Franky stand awed (“the battle is over”), and the chapter flashes back five minutes — to Hogback’s lab, where Zoro stakes a claim to Ryuma’s black blade Shusui and the two open with a clash whose thrust lands like a gunshot.
