Zoan · current: Pierre

Profile

A Zoan-type Devil Fruit. Eaten by Pierre, a bird belonging to Gan Fall (“Ganfor the Sky Knight”), letting it transform into a winged horse (“Pegasus”-like) form (pp.8–9). Notable as a case of a non-human animal eating a Devil Fruit, producing an unusual cross of base animal (bird) and fruit-granted animal (horse).

Etymology

ウマウマの実 / Uma Uma no Mi馬 (uma) = “horse” (the standard X-X no Mi Zoan reduplication pattern). VIZ/Funimation render it the “Horse-Horse Fruit.” Fully transparent; confidence high. The horse pun is amplified in the user: a bird eating the Horse-Horse Fruit yields a winged horse — the crew immediately reads it as a Pegasus, blending the fruit’s horse with the bird’s wings.
