Summary

At the Alubarna palace square, Crocodile confronts rebel-leader Koza face-to-face and delivers his psychological kill-shot: the entire two-year rebellion — every crime the rebels blamed on King Nefertari Cobra — was a Baroque Works trap, engineered by Crocodile to make the people “dance” for him. He tells Koza that had Koza never discovered the truth he “would have died a happier man,” then warns that the palace square will be the site of a “titanic explosion” in less than half an hour, and that the only way to stop the war and save lives is to raise the white flag. Chaka — wounded but defiant — transforms into his full Inu Inu no Mi, Model Jackal hybrid form for the first time on-page, declares “as long as there’s a spark of life in me, I will fight on,” intercepts a Baroque Works officer-agent who once begged him for sword lessons, and buys Koza and Vivi the minutes they need (“Koza, Princess Vivi, do what you must!”). Koza, converted, charges into the square waving white flags and shouts to both armies that the Royal Army is surrendering and the war was wrong — “let’s stop this war!” The battle goes silent… and at the cliffhanger, the king’s own soldiers open fire and shoot Koza down.
