The Inu Inu no Mi, Model Jackal is a carnivorous Zoan-class Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a jackal (or jackal-hybrid form). User: Chaka, Royal Guard Acting Commander of Alabasta.
Note on first_named: The fruit’s Jackal Model / Zoan type is confirmed on-page via Chaka’s on-page transformation in Ch. 196 p. 11 — bystanders name it: “JACKAL MODEL!! / MUTT-MUTT FRUIT… / HMM… A ZOAN TYPE…” (VIZ renders Inu Inu no Mi as the Mutt-Mutt Fruit). The full proper-name Inu Inu no Mi is still forward-canon. As of Ch. 167 only the Jackal element appeared in Chaka’s title-canonization (“Chaka the Jackal!! Acting Commander of the Royal Guard”); the on-page transformation lands in Ch. 196.

Jackal-form combat continues Ch. 197 pp. 11-13 — The Leaders: Chaka fights a Baroque Works officer-agent in full jackal-hybrid form at the Alubarna palace square; narration hails him as “The Jackal! The guardian deity of Alabasta…” — first on-page guardian-deity-of-Alabasta narration for the fruit’s user. NOTE: this is a continuation of the on-page jackal-Zoan combat that first occurred at Ch. 196; the first full transformation + fruit-naming remains 0196 (first_demonstrated not regressed). The full proper-name Inu Inu no Mi, Model Jackal is still not uttered on-page as of 197 — only the Jackal element + guardian-deity register.

Lore & theories
Egyptian-Anubis encoding (pair with Pell’s Horus)
Chaka’s Jackal maps to Anubis in the Egyptian pantheon — the jackal-headed god of mummification, embalming, and the afterlife (guide of souls through judgment). Pell’s Tori Tori no Mi, Model Falcon maps to Horus (falcon-headed sky/kingship god). The Royal Guard captains as Anubis + Horus is the mythological-double-act foundation of the Alabasta arc’s Egyptian-coded thematic stack.
Zoan-naming-convention
Inu-inu (dog-dog, doubled animal noun) is the standard Zoan naming-grammar — the same pattern recurs across the entire series (Hito Hito human-human, Ushi Ushi cow-cow, Tori Tori bird-bird, Mogu Mogu mole-mole, etc.). The Model-suffix designates the specific species within the broader animal-category.
