Summary
On the Grand Banquet Hall’s third floor of the Skull Dome, the Tobi Roppo Black Maria has webbed Sanji in a layered trap and demands he broadcast a plea across Onigashima to lure Nico Robin in. Sanji — who everyone expects to die defiantly silent — instead screams “ROBIIIIN!! HELP ME!!” island-wide, secretly playing along so Robin can pinpoint him. Robin blooms a giant Hana Hana no Mi hand to spank Black Maria, then arrives in person (“the demon part of me starts to emerge”), with Brook freezing and shattering every spider-thread trap. Sanji bolts for Kin’emon’s group as Robin and Brook square off against Black Maria, who vows Robin “will belong to Master Kaido” — and is refused. Elsewhere in the dome, Yamato, hiding Momonosuke and Shinobu in a sealed storeroom, identifies a cyborg surveillance mouse as one of Kaido’s Marys — meaning they’ve been spotted — just as Beasts Pirates batter down the door hunting “the new Lord Shogun.” On the floor below, Jack in mammoth hybrid form bears down on the mortally wounded Red Scabbards.
New reveals
- The Marys — Yamato explains the cyborg mechanical animals roaming Onigashima are her father Kaido’s surveillance force, “the Marys”; they share eyesight with human Mary operators, so being seen by one means the enemy knows their location (p. 14).
- Black Maria’s lure — her whole banquet-hall setup is a capture trap: webbed entrance in many layers, an adhesive floor, courtesan subordinates with tranquilizer guns in the back, and a den-den-mushi broadcast to carry Sanji’s voice across the island and draw Robin to it (pp. 2–7).
- Robin’s “demon” turn — Robin frames her assault as the “demon part” of her emerging when friends are harmed, weaponizing the long-running “Demon Child” epithet that titles the chapter (p. 11).

Open questions raised
- What is Black Maria’s Devil Fruit? Her web-spinning, giant size, and “Woman Trouble” technique are shown but the fruit is still unnamed.
- Why is the dome storeroom “an accursed place… no one goes in there anymore”?
- Now that the Marys have spotted them, can Yamato keep Momonosuke and Shinobu hidden as the Beasts Pirates close in?
