Prior to Ch. 0113, Vivi was readable as a cover-disguised officer-agent (Ch. 0103-0109) and as a named princess-target (Ch. 0110, via Miss Valentine’s reveal). Ch. 0113 is the chapter where Vivi narrates her own agency on-page: she chose to infiltrate, she chose to find the boss, she chose to risk Baroque-Works exposure to defend her people.
The agency-tell strengthens Vivi is the Final Joy Boy Counterpart at the Vivi-as-active-counter-agent sub-thesis level. Forward-cascade: every later Vivi-resolve-hardening beat (Crocodile-confrontation, Reverie speech, Imu-target-status) re-keys to this chapter’s agency-canonization.
The technique is princess-of-the-people — Vivi’s motive is explicitly her people, not her crown. The line “I’ve got to return to my land and stop the rebellion before my people throw themselves into Baroque Works’ clutches” installs the people-over-throne register that Vivi articulates again at the Vol. 23 farewell (“I still want to journey with you, but I love this country!!!”) and at the Reverie (Vivi’s policy-of-the-people speech to the Five Elders). The Ch. 0113 install is the earliest possible on-page canonization of this register.
