Rocks Pirates Roster And Shakuyaku Reveals Run The Label-Splash Grammar In Both Registers

Third confirmed chapter (after Ch. 904 and Ch. 1131) to run the grammar in both registers at once — and the first full crew-name-band squad-splash for the legendary Rocks Pirates.
The seed(s)
The origin composition (installed at Alvida, Ch. 2 p. 6 — see Villain Label-Panel Grammar First Installed): a full-figure dominating the frame (Arlong throned, arms spread across the panel’s vertical axis), a giant “DOOM!!” letterform filling the negative space, a curled-corner rectangular nameplate — “SAW-TOOTH ARLONG / CAPTAIN OF ARLONG’S PIRATES” — and flanking officer/reaction figures (Kuroobi, Chew). The four invariants: full-figure owning the axis · TITLE/NAME caption-card · DOOM-register SFX backdrop · bystander reaction insets. A character rendered this way is flagged arc-weight on sight.
The payoff — Ch 1156 runs BOTH registers
Shakuyaku (“Shakky”) gets the single-figure label-splash in its beauty/glamour register: a full-figure standing pose owning the panel’s vertical axis (long-haired, cloaked, cigarette, hand on hip), the proper name “SHAKUYAKU” lettered large in decorative display-letterforms across the bottom (the name-in-negative-space slot), a two-line caption-card — KUJA PIRATES FIRST MATE / SHAKUYAKU — and, in the reaction-inset slot, the smitten bystanders (“MY SOUL IS BEING TAKEN TO HEAVEN ♡”, “DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND THE HONOR OF BEING LOVED BY ME, ROGER?!”). Same four invariants as Arlong 0069, re-keyed from threat-thunder to glamour. The legendary crew is fielded as one standing unit: Rocks D. Xebec front-and-center, dragon-horned, owning the vertical axis with a raised arm mid-declaration (“ELBAPH IS THE KEY TO TAKING DOWN THE HOLY LAND!!! / LISTEN UP, FOLKS!!”), his crew fanned around him — Charlotte Linlin (striped outfit + wide hat, hands on hips), young Kaido (crouched, glowering), Streusen, Captain John, and a bowler-hat recruit. The giant “ROCKS PIRATES” team-name band is split across the spread (partial ”…OCKS” behind Rocks + “PIRATES” lower-left on p. 18 → “ROCKS” lower-right on p. 19), with “DA-DOOM!!” / “DOOM!!!” entrance SFX. This is the squad-splash label-band grammar in its villain / legendary-emperor-crew register — the first time the Rocks Pirates are crowned as a single roster under their own name-band.
The mirror (shared invariants)

- Both registers, one chapter — the single-figure install (Shakuyaku, glamour) + the ensemble squad-splash (Rocks Pirates, villain), exactly as Ch. 904 (Peachbeard + Rev captains) and Ch. 1131 (Loki + New Giant Pirates) paired them.
The deliberate variation is tone/allegiance: Shakuyaku’s install is played for glamour (the era’s untouchable beauty), the Rocks spread for menace (the era’s most dangerous crew) — but the cards (figure-owns-axis + oversized-name-in-negative-space + title/team caption + DOOM-SFX + reaction insets) are reused near-identically.
Why this matters
Ch 1156 is the third confirmed chapter (after 0904 and 1131) to run Oda’s label-splash grammar in both registers inside a single chapter — a single-figure install and an ensemble squad-splash — and it delivers the first full crew-name-band squad-splash for the legendary Rocks Pirates, crowning them as a roster on a par with the emperor-tier squads the grammar has always tagged.
