The seed

The villain label-splash grammar (origin: Alvida Ch. 2 p. 6, Arlong Ch. 69 p. 13 — see Villain Label-Panel Grammar First Installed) restaged as a two-page four-figure squad-shot for the Revolutionary Army’s commanders: each captain in a full-figure pose owning the panel’s vertical axis, a giant typographic name-letterform in the negative space (BELO BETTY · MORLEY · KARASU · LINDBERGH), entrance-SFX, and a two-line directional caption-card, the quartet bound under a single team-name band split across the spread (“THEY’RE THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY’S… …MILITARY CAPTAINS!!!!”). That note (Revolutionary Captain Quartet Restages The Label-Splash Grammar As An Ally Ensemble) closes with the watch-for: “a per-figure label-splash spread bound by a team-name caption band is the ensemble squad-shot tell — expect it whenever a faction’s officer roster is first shown acting as one unit.” It also flagged the same-chapter double deployment (an ironic single-figure villain install for Peachbeard, p. 4, alongside the straight ally ensemble). The payoff — Ch 1131 deploys the grammar in BOTH registers

Hajrudin in a full-figure stance owning the vertical axis (helmet-horned, arms set, the slain beast across the lower frame), his name “HAJRUDIN” lettered large in display letterforms into the negative space (lower-center), a two-line caption-card above it — NEW GIANT PIRATES / CAPTAIN — and a “DEE GA GA GA GA!!” / DOOM-register entrance SFX. The straight-heroic officer install.

The second figure (Stansen, full-figure firing a cannon, name-letterform + NEW GIANT PIRATES / SHIPWRIGHT card, “DOOM!!” SFX), then the roster crowned under a single team-name banner — a scroll-banner reading “New Giant Pirates (Self-proclaimed Straw Hat Fleet)” over five portrait cards: (Captain) Hajrudin · (Cook) Goldberg · (Doctor) Gerd · (Shipwright) Stansen · (Navigator) Rodo, captioned “from the generation after Dorry and Brogy… a pirate crew of five younger giants.” This is the ensemble squad-shot tell the 904 note predicted — a faction’s officer roster first shown acting as one unit, bound under a consolidating team-name band, played straight-heroic (these are Straw Hat Grand Fleet allies).

The companion install, in the threat register: the chained giant dominating the frame (grinning face + massive sea-prism chains filling the panel), his name “LOKI” lettered large in stylized display letterforms into the negative space (bottom-center), a three-line caption-card — ELBAPH’S ACCURSED PRINCE / LOKI / SPECIAL GOVERNMENT BOUNTY 2.6 BILLION — and the chains’ clank-register SFX. The bounty caption-card restores the Jack (Ch. 810) / Big-Mom-tier threat slot, here re-keyed as a novel “Special Government Bounty.” Exactly as Ch 904 paired a single-figure villain card (Peachbeard) with the ally ensemble, Ch 1131 pairs Loki’s single-figure threat-card with the New Giant Pirates ensemble — both registers, one chapter.

The mirror (shared invariants)

1. Full-figure owning the panel’s vertical axis — the Revolutionary quartet standing top-to-bottom (904 pp. 10-11) → Hajrudin / Stansen full-figure (1131 pp. 14-15) → Loki’s chained colossus filling the frame (1131 p. 3).

The deliberate variation is the ensemble’s allegiance and tone: 904’s ally ensemble are sober directional commanders; 1131’s are a boisterous, self-proclaimed Grand-Fleet crew (musical-note gags, “WARRIORS OF ELLLBAPH ♪”) — but the card (full-figure + oversized-name-in-negative-space + title/name caption + DOOM-SFX + team-name band) is reused near-identically.

Why this matters

This is the second confirmed instance (after Ch 904) of Oda running the label-splash grammar in both registers inside a single chapter — a single-figure threat-card and an ally-ensemble squad-shot — and the New Giant Pirates roster band is a textbook payoff of the 904 watch-for (“a per-figure label-splash bound by a team-name band marks a roster crowned as one fighting unit”).
