The seed

The payoff — refuted

(Reached at Ch. 202 — the chamber is reached and read; the seed still looked live at that point.)

Why this matters

A rare on-page refuted lead: Crocodile’s confident “Pluton sleeps in Alabasta” is planted early (Ch. 0193), looks mechanically on-track through the poneglyph-chamber setpiece (Ch. 0202-0203), and is then quietly overturned two arcs’ worth of chapters later (Ch. 1053) — the location was Wano all along, and Robin’s Ch. 0203 “no mention of the Pluton” line was a deliberate concealment, not an accurate report. Useful as a case study in Oda’s false-completion technique: a villain’s confident inference from real evidence (Cobra’s terror) can still be wrong about specifics.
