The Elbaf-honor doctrine has three integrated pillars canonized across Ch. 116, Ch. 117, and Ch. 119:
- Name-is-self (Ch. 119 p. 5) — sword-name and reputation are identity, not accessories.
- Theological combat-judgment (Ch. 119 p. 6) — Elbaph the god of war judges duels; losses are Elbaph’s judgment.
- Multi-century time-horizon (Ch. 119 p. 8 + Ch. 117 p. 15) — giants weigh honor on a centuries-long scale, not human decades.

The doctrine is also weaponized by Mr. 3 in the same chapter — his bomb-in-the-ale plot (canonized Ch. 0118) operates through the giants’ honor-doctrine: the giants’ code makes them assume the only people they ate with would be the only candidate-attackers (Dorry attacks the Strawhats in Ch. 0118), and the duel-theology makes Brogy read Dorry’s bomb-induced collapse as a fair-combat outcome (Ch. 0119 p. 9). The Brogy-unwittingly-kills-his-friend tragedy beat is a direct exploitation of the name-is-self / theological-combat-judgment doctrine.
The chapter installs the structural-mirror between Dorry’s name-is-self doctrine and Usopp’s I-AM-USOPP, A BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEA declarative-self-naming (Ch. 119 pp. 3-4) — Usopp learns the name-is-self doctrine directly from Dorry in the same chapter that Dorry articulates it most fully.
