Gear Fourth Numbered-Form Debut Splash Composition

The seed
The payoff

The intermediate instance — Tankman Ch. 842 page 12 (“GEAR FOUR!!! TANKMAN!!! / STUFFED VERSION”) — uses the same body-presented + oversized-name + DOOM-SFX grammar, but as a large central panel rather than a full/near-full-page splash, which is why it reads as the bridge in the lineage, not its anchor.
Why this matters
This is the presentation half of Luffy’s Gear vocabulary, distinct from the activation half. Gear Activation Bite-And-Inflate Balloon Panel Grammar fixes the mechanic beat (bite → blow → black inflate-mass → jagged ”___ Balloon!!!” call, e.g. 0784 p6). This note fixes the reveal beat that follows it: once the form is built, Oda stages it in a fixed composition — full-body Luffy, flame-Haki body-tattoo, frame-filling smoke, DOOM-SFX, and the form-name in giant block type baked into the panel.
That composition is the visual companion to the name-before-form cliffhanger device (Gear Fourth Named Before Its Form Is Revealed, Gear Fourth Snakeman Named Before Its Form Is Revealed): the name is promised at the prior chapter’s cliffhanger, then paid off by this presentation splash one chapter later (0783→0784 for Boundman; 0894→0895 for Snake-Man). When a future Gear-Fourth (or successor-fruit) form is teased by name, expect its on-page debut to land in this exact full-body-presented, name-stamped splash layout.
