Ch. 250 p. 13 — “it will interfere with my Mantra”
Satori , nearly killed by Luffy ’s over-triggered chain reaction, tells himself the rattle “will interfere with my Mantra.” This is the first on-page statement that the Skypiea precognition faculty is composure-dependent — it can be disrupted.

Ch. 262 p. 17 — first on-page DEFEAT of a Mantra user via the composure-break
In the first sustained fight against a Mantra user (Gedatsu ), Tony Tony Chopper wins not by overpowering him but by being unreadable : his terrified, chaotic movement keeps slipping Gedatsu’s prediction throughout the fight, and the kill-blow only lands after Gedatsu panics and “lets down” his Mantra himself — “Agh! I got distracted and let down my Mantra!!” . This is the first on-page payoff of the composure-dependence seed : Satori’s Ch. 0250 self-warning (“it will interfere with my Mantra”) is now demonstrated as a loss condition . Establishes the recurring rule that Observation-type foresight is broken by unpredictability AND by the user’s lapse of focus — the same weakness Luffy later exploits against Enel . (Merged here from the Ch. 0262 reader’s proposed “Mantra Defeated By Unpredictable Movement And Lost Focus” seed — same concept, kept as one note per batch reconciliation.)
Ch. 281 pp. 13–17 — the loss-condition reaches the master Mantra user
Luffy beats Enel ’s Mantra by being unreadable: he blanks his mind (“Space-out”, p. 13) and then lands hits by rebounding attacks off the Ark Maxim’s hull, so the “flying hits” aren’t under his control (pp. 16–17). Nami is the in-fight explainer of both tactics. The Ch. 0250 seed (“it will interfere with my Mantra”) and the Ch. 0262 first-defeat (Gedatsu vs. Chopper) now generalize to the strongest Mantra user — precognition cannot read a move the attacker himself isn’t choosing.
Ch. 895 pp. 4-8 — forward-canon: future-sight beaten by a path that changes after it’s read
Katakuri , a master of future-sight Observation Haki, sees Luffy ’s attacks coming — yet Luffy’s Gear-4 Snake-Man punches curve and accelerate after release (“Why did it come from the side?!”, p. 5), so a Jet Culverin lands (p. 8) despite being foreseen. Extends the Skypiea doctrine: precognition cannot save you from a strike whose path the attacker keeps changing mid-flight (cf. Luffy rebounding attacks off the Ark Maxim vs Enel , Ch. 281 ). Why this matters
This is the earliest on-page limitation placed on the attack-precognition register that the series later formalizes as Observation Haki. Where the named demonstration (Mantra Power Of The Faithful Observation-Haki Precursor ) establishes the faculty exists and is taught, this beat establishes it is fallible — focus-dependent and therefore jammable.
