Chapter 1025: Twin Dragons

Summary

On the Skull Dome rooftop, Yamato holds Kaido back single-handed, trading her ice strike “Hallowed Glacier Slash” for the Emperor’s blows. Kaido tries to break her spirit by recounting her childhood: caged and reviled as the “Ogre Princess,” with every person who showed her kindness — samurai in a cave, and a boy who smuggled her food while dreaming of becoming Oden — executed on his order. He insists her bloodline is destiny: “friendship is a sham,” she is “the son of Kaido,” fated to rule by strength. Meanwhile Momonosuke, grown into an adult dragon, ferries the fallen Luffy back toward Onigashima — but, terrified of heights, he flies with his eyes shut and smashes down through the Skull Dome’s interior (Performance Floor → Second Floor → Third Floor), panicking the Beasts crew who can’t tell the pink dragon from Kaido. Momo crashes onto the rooftop; Luffy fires off a Gear Four Snake-Man “Gum-Gum Jet Culverin” while Yamato lands “White Serpent,” and the two strike Kaido together. Luffy thanks Yamato (“Yamao”) for buying time. Cornered by Kaido demanding the strange dragon name itself, Luffy answers that he’ll be King of the Pirates and Momonosuke roars his own declaration: “Kozuki Momonosuke — the man who will be Shogun of Wano!!” Kaido, amused that the “little boy” survived, retorts that “the world doesn’t need two dragons.”
