Structural lore — what Oda has confirmed about this. Mysteries (unsolved questions) live in

What we know
- Ch. 464: A named in-world reference book cataloging Devil Fruits and their powers, which Sanji read cover to cover as a child (p. 8).
- Ch. 464: It is the source of two canon rules Sanji recites — every fruit is one-of-a-kind (“there are no two of the same fruit in this world”) and “each power comes with a curse.”
- Ch. 509: First on-page evidence that Zoan fruits include ancient/extinct-species models — X Drake’s dinosaur is flagged as “a rare, ancient species of the Zoan type… the first time I’ve seen one” (p. 11). Establishes the Ancient-Zoan sub-branch of the catalogue. Cross-link Nature of Devil Fruits.
Chronology / structure
Establishes that documented Devil-Fruit lore circulates in the world — a written catalogue of fruits and powers exists and is readable by ordinary people. It set the young Sanji’s imagination on the invisibility fruit (the Suke-Suke no Mi), the dream he later grudges Absalom for “eating.” Compare the Ch. 385 note that the CP9 fruits were “not in the illustrated reference books” (rare / uncatalogued fruits) and the Vol-45 SBS Devil-Fruit-book aside.
