- 白々海 / Shirashira no Umi — 白々 (shirajira/shirashira) = 'white-white', i.e. glaringly/blindingly white. The all-white upper-stratum cloud sea on which Skypiea rests. Descriptive; no hidden pun.

Profile
The sea of clouds the Straw Hats arrive in at the top of the Knock-Up Stream (Ch. 237, pages 5–8). Nami names it the “Sky Ocean” (page 8) and places their position at the “middle level of the Emperor Cloud.” The surface cloud is solid enough to sail a ship on; the deeper “fluffy” cloud has almost no resistance, so a swimmer sinks through it into a bottomless white (Usopp nearly drowns in cloud, pages 8–10). The Log Pose still points UP from here — the actual Sky Island (Skypiea) is higher. Home to sky fish (Sky Fish — giant cloud-octopus, “flat snake”/flounder, balloon-fish).
