Name meaning
Descriptive name for Perona's domain on Thriller Bark — a manicured 'wonder garden' of cuteness-and-horror; the 'wonderland' framing suits her gothic-Lolita, fairytale-macabre aesthetic. No deeper sourced wordplay.

Grand Line (Thriller Bark) · first appeared: Ch. 451

Profile

A vast walled forest-garden at the back of Hogback’s mansion on Thriller Bark, belonging to Perona and stocked with stitched animal “wild zombies” and “surprise zombies.” A giant passageway/bridge links it to an even larger structure across the island where captives are taken to be turned into zombies (the “dance hall” / “master”). Nami, Usopp and Chopper wake here after the Risky Brothers drop their coffin (pp. 9-11, 15).

Key chapters

  • Ch. 447 — first referenced
  • Ch. 451 — first appearance; named on-page (“Mistress Perona’s Wonder Garden,” pp. 1, 15); the trio wake here and the giant passageway to the far building is revealed (pp. 10-11)
  • Ch. 453 — named on-page again (“Perona’s Wonder Garden,” p. 2) as the overgrown garden-ruin patrolled by Perona’s wild zombies; establishes the two-faction chain of command — wild zombies answer to Perona, while the Masters (Absalom) hold a separate, higher rank (pp. 9-10).
  • Ch. 462 — the freed Straw Hats fight back through the Garden; Usopp’s bottomless pessimism out-negatives Perona’s Negative Hollow ghosts, and only “the strange animal zombies” still pursue as they break for the mansion ahead (pp. 2-4).
  • Characters from here: Perona, Kumacy, the wild & surprise zombies
  • Events here: the Risky Brothers drop the captives’ coffin; the chivalrous “newcomer” zombie shields Nami from Lola
  • Mysteries set here: the unnamed “even bigger building” / zombie-conversion process; Wonder Garden Zombie Refuses To Kick A Woman
