This is the face-and-speech half of the Roger-execution motif, distinct from the scaffold-prop half tracked in Roger Execution Scaffold (the Ch. 1 → Ch. 98 → Ch. 100 → Noland scaffold-composition chain). Where that note follows the platform across arcs, this mirror follows the close-up of Roger’s face delivering the invitation + the crowd-in-the-plaza — the two panels that actually carry the speech.
The structural lesson: Oda re-draws a foundational composition verbatim the moment an in-universe eyewitness re-narrates it. Ch. 1 showed the execution as omniscient legend (un-named figure, no context); Ch. 506 replays the identical layout from the mouth of the man who was there — now loaded with the true context (Roger turned himself in, was dying, chose to ignite the era). The mirror is the visual signal that the legend you were handed on page 1 is being re-grounded as lived testimony. Watch for the same trick at every later Roger-era flashback (Oden’s Ch. 966+ retelling, the Ch. 968 final-words restaging): the close-up-face + plaza-crowd pairing is the quotation marks Oda puts around “the Pirate King’s last words.”
